About the CAPC
Mission
The Butte County Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) serves as a catalyst for change to prevent child abuse while building strong community partnerships through awareness, education, and outreach.
Vision
Butte County CAPC envisions the elimination of child abuse in Butte County.
Established in 1975, the Butte County Child Abuse Prevention Council was formally designated as the county’s official Child Abuse Prevention Council in 1989 by the Butte County Board of Supervisors.
CAPC, administered by the First 5 Butte County Children and Families Commission, works to prevent child abuse and neglect by promoting strong, healthy families and coordinating community-wide prevention efforts. CAPC brings together public agencies, community-based organizations, local partners, and community members to collaborate on education, training, planning, and systems improvement related to child abuse prevention.
